Fort Wayne Community Schools in Indiana begins CCE Implementation

Picture of the Ft Wayne skylineFort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) in Fort Wayne, Indiana recently began using Calibration & Certification Engine (CCE), School Improvement Network’s branded version of Observation Engine. FWCS is partnering with professional learning association, Learning Forward, to develop in-house proficiency with the Indiana teacher evaluation rubric called RISE.  The goal is to enable the district to improve the inter-rater reliability of its observers. The initial focus of this work is to develop this competency within a core group of principals and lead teachers, with the goal of establishing a Train the Trainer process that will administer training and certification to principals district-wide. This fall, the team took advantage of CCE’s Studies functionality to run a pre-assessment calibration activity to pinpoint which competencies in the RISE rubric may need additional focus and study.
